Why did I contribute to L2F?
I contributed because I admire what this person is doing. There aren't many straight people who understand how hard it is to be homosexual, or even care or want to help us achieve equality in society. Many people act as if being gay is a choice, but it's not like I just woke up one day and said: "Wow, I like girls." It was just something I always did, even as young as ten I remember being sexaually attracted to women, but I always thought it was weird, or there was something wrong with me. Even now that I'm older, and I know it's not wrong, I still feel isolated, and like I don't even belong in my own family, or at school. It's sometimes depressing to wake up every day and be told things like: "I'd be disappointed if my daughter was a lesbian," or, "God hates fag," or even just hear people make uneducated assumptions and declarations of hate based off of misinformation given to them by their homophobic parents or church. I just some day hope that the world will change, so that all homosexuals will reach the same level of equality that heterosexual people enjoy.
I also contributed because I know how powerful art can be. I’m currently taking AP Art History in my high school, and after studying art, I realize how truly powerful even simple images can be. The last reason is because I plan on becoming a graphic artist, and I might as well start my career now.
